42|London is for everyone! Just be 18 years old and over and know how to use a mouse and keyboard. You do not need to have prior programming knowledge or a degree. The will to learn, commitment and determination cannot be lacking.

No programming skills are required to pass. Use a computer to play the games and choose a quiet location with a good internet connection.

Check In
During Check-in, you will spend 3 hours visiting the campus of 42|London to know our team, the learning method, and other candidates like you. Throughout the year, you will have several Check-in dates allowing you to choose the one that suits you the most. Was it everything you were looking for? Ready for the Piscine?

Pool
It is the last step before joining as a 42 student. The word Piscine means “swimming pool” in French. There are 4 weeks of immersion, including during the weekends, working through challenging projects and learning a lot about coding, teamwork, and about 42.

How long is the training?
Three years on average, with the first part – the core curriculum – usually lasting until 18 months.
Can you have a job while training at 42?
It is not recommended to have a full-time job during the common-core curriculum, as 42 training is intense. A part-time job is more reasonable, but it requires personal discipline and engagement.
Can you take a break during training?
You can take 3 breaks during the curriculum for up to 6 months total.
Can you train on another campus during the curriculum?
After completing a common-core stage, you can choose to go to another 42 campuses.
How much does 42 cost?
Training at 42 is entirely free. There are no hidden fees.
Is there an age limit at 42?
Any person over 18’s can apply at 42. There’s no other requirement.
Do you need to have any coding knowledge or any required diplomas?
No diplomas, prep school or speciality courses are required. You don’t need to have any coding experience to start learning at 42.
How does peer-to-peer work?
Instead of the student-teacher relationship, in 42 the students teach, learn and evaluate each other. This method helps you to develop critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills.
What do you mean by a gamified program?
As in a game, the progression in the program happens through earning points. With these points, you level up and unlock new projects and learning paths, and your level defines how far you’ve reached in the program.
If I have no teachers, who will evaluate me?
The students evaluate each other based on predefined correction criteria. This time among students is fundamental for the development and strengthening of the community.

Can I register at 42 as a foreign student?
Yes, you can since you have the right to stay and study in the UK. The course is not a distance learning course. You must be able to be present on our 42 campuses for the selection process and the whole curriculum.

How can I apply?
Our application process is open 365 days a year. Go to the application website and, after completing the registration, play the two online logic games. The first one lasts for about 4 minutes and the second one for about 2 hours.
If you pass, you’ll be invited to our check-in stage. It’s a 2 hours meeting on the campus to know the school, the method, the team, and other candidates like you. This is mandatory!
Finally, you will be able to get a slot in the Piscine. It is a 4 weeks event where you will learn a lot about programming, teamwork, and about 42. If you complete this phase successfully: congratulations, you are in!
When is the next introduction meetings/Check-in?
New dates are added throughout the year: Applicants are informed by mail and on social networks.
If you pass, you’ll be invited to our check-in stage. It’s a 2 hours meeting on the campus to know the school, the method, the team, and other candidates like you. This is mandatory!
Finally, you will be able to get a slot in the Piscine. It is a 4 weeks event where you will learn a lot about programming, teamwork, and about 42. If you complete this phase successfully: congratulations, you are in!
How can you pre-register for the Piscine?
You can pre-register for the Piscine after passing the online game tests and completing the introduction meeting/check-in.
Can you pass the Piscine to another campus?
All steps performed on 42|London will only be valid for 42|London. The selection process is unique for each campus.
What is expected of me to pass the Piscine?
There’s only one rule: During the Piscine, do your best and aim to surpass yourself. Be proactive, creative and dedicated. This is the only way you will know if the 42 is for you.
Can you take the Piscine several times?
You can take up to 2 Piscines in your lifetime, on all campuses of 42 and its partners. A minimum of 300 days between these 2 Piscines must be respected.
