42 London is open to everyone - no prior experience, degree, or financial investment needed. If you have the motivation, resilience, and passion to learn, we’ll provide the environment, challenges, and community to help you succeed.
How to Apply
Joining 42 London is a straightforward process designed to test your logical thinking and problem-solving skills. Follow these steps to begin your journey:
Online Logic Game
Your first challenge is an online cognitive test, designed to evaluate your problem-solving abilities and logical thinking. No prior coding experience is needed - just an open mind and a willingness to learn!
Please note: it will take 2 business days to get your results!
Online ID Check
Once you pass the online game, an email will be sent to you to verify your visa status and age. If you are a non-citizen, you must provide your share code following the instructions in the email. If you are a UK citizen, you should complete the Citizen ID check as outlined in the email. You must be at least 18 years old and have the right to live in the UK. No prior coding experience is required.
Introduction Session
If you pass the ID check, you’ll be invited to an Introduction Session (online or offline), where you’ll learn more about our unique learning model, meet fellow applicants, and get a glimpse of life at 42 London.
The Piscine – A 4-Week Coding Challenge
The final step is The Piscine (French for “swimming pool”). This immersive, four-week bootcamp is your ultimate test—challenging, exciting, and hands-on. You'll dive deep into coding, problem-solving, and teamwork to see if 42 London is the right fit for you.

Congratulations! If you mastered the Piscine, you can join 42 and your free education. At 42 your first projects are designed to build on the knowledge that you have acquired during the Piscine and start you on your way to your writing your future in code.
